Our 6th through 8th Grade students spend time learning advanced studies with a curiculum tailored to each student. Students are allowed to work at their own pace with accredited teachers in secular subjects. Our subjects include Science, Social Studies, Math, English, Art and our students typically exceed Illinois requirements for education. Small classes and engaged teachers make learning fun and exciting.
Jewish Studies
Students are very involved in interpreting Jewish texts and Torah along with creating their own skits and productions for the school Holidays are celebrated with integrated projects in Art and Music. Hebrew is taught by local rabbi's and staff. Students are encouraged to be involved in service projects for local jewish organizations.
Getting ready for high school is a big part of 8th grade, enabling our students to step into a new environment and continue to excel. Our alumni from last year began the International Baccaluriate Program at Richwoods High School, Peoria IL.
Some of our famlies drive great distance to bring their children to Peoria Hebrew Day School. They say they wouldn't want their children to be anywhere else and we enjoy having our parent's volunteer during the school day.
PHDS prides itself in producing productive, well-rounded children who continue to shine in their academic careers.
